‶CUHK Eye Catchers″ Participate in the APAO Fundraising Run 2025

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) participated enthusiastically in the APAO Fundraising Run ‶Run to Delhi″, achieving commendable results.

The DOVS team participated in the ‶Run to Delhi″ under the name ‶CUHK Eye Catchers″. We were pleased to secure the Group – Highest Mileages award with a total distance of 154.93 km, jointly run by members of the team during the month of March 2025. This remarkable achievement was fuelled by the dedication of team members, including Prof Clement CY THAM, Prof Calvin CP PANG, Prof Guy LJ CHEN, Prof Jason CS YAM, Dr Kelvin KL CHONG, Dr Simon KH SZETO, Dr Julia YY CHAN, and Prof Carmen KM CHAN.

Individual members also achieved notable results. Among those,  Prof Carmen KM CHAN received the ‶Female – Highest Mileages (Ophthalmologist)″ with a total distance of 35.02km. Assistant Professors Dr Simon KH SZETO and Dr Julia YY CHAN also achieved commendable results in the Highest Mileages category of Young Ophthalmologists.

Proceeds from the APAO Fundraising Run 2025 go to support the rescue mission in Myanmar after the recent severe earthquake, through the Myanmar Ophthalmological Society.

DOVS, under the group name of ‶CUHK Eye Catchers″, received the Top Fundraising Award in the group category. Prof Clement CY THAM (second left), Prof Jason CS YAM (first right), and Dr Kelvin KL CHONG (first left) represented the team to receive the recognition from Prof Andrew CHANG (second right, Deputy Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology).
