We have been working closely with Shantou University / CUHK Joint Shantou International Eye Center (JSIEC) since its inauguration in 2002, in the advancements of ophthalmic services, research, training, education, and community services in the Chaoshan area and regions beyond.
In 2021, we have completed two 3-year programmes in collaboration with the Hong Kong Jockey Club: the CUHK Jockey Club Children’s Eye Care Programme and the CUHK Jockey Club Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Programme. Currently, we are conducting the CUHK Jockey Club Myopia Prevention Programme, with the aim of reducing myopia and its complications in Hong Kong.
Also in 2021, we commenced clinical ophthalmic services and research at the newly established CUHK Medical Centre and the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, while maintaining our clinical service commitments at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.
We endeavors to achieve international excellence in clinical ophthalmology and the visual sciences.
