The CUHK-HKEH Clinical Drug Trial Centre was established to conduct clinical studies in compliance with the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to protect subjects′ right and safety, as well as to ensure the integrity of study data which are credible and accurate. Our Centre locates in the Hong Kong Eye Hospital. Since 2006, both the Hong Kong Eye Hospital (HKEH) and the Joint Shantou International Eye Center (JSIEC) of Shantou University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong have been accredited by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as trial centres in ophthalmology. The centre has conducted a number of sponsored clinical trials in different subspecialty; including clinical trials for the purpose of US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) certification.

Hong Kong Eye Hospital was accredited by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) since 2006. That means the clinical study data generated from our site can be accepted by the NMPA for registration purpose. Our data can also be submitted to US, European and Japanese regulatory authorities.
