We are delighted to announce that Dr Poemen PM CHAN has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with effective from 28 February 2024.
Dr Chan started ophthalmology training in Hong Kong Eye Hospital. Since he joined the Department, he has received numerous recognitions in the aspects of clinical practice, research and education, both locally and internationally. Dr Chan’s contributions extend beyond borders, as he actively participates in international academic activities, serving as a committee member for major organizations including the World Glaucoma Association (WGA) and the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society (APGS).
“This is an appropriate recognition of Poemen’s great accomplishments in advancing glaucoma care, leading top-notched research programmes, as well as implementing innovative teaching methodologies, in the past 6 years.” said by Prof Clement CY THAM, the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, CUHK.
