DOVS Participates in ARVO Annual Meeting 2024

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong has actively engaged in the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO Annual Meeting 2024) held in Seattle, Washington from 5-9 May 2024. A delegation of 17 individuals from DOVS, including 3 professors, 3 research staff, 9 postgraduate students, and 2 undergraduate students attended the event. They presented their research findings, participated in research meetings and engaging in scientific interactions.

ARVO is one of the largest and most established vision research organizations worldwide, with over 12,600 researchers from more than 80 countries.  The Annual Meeting is a significant platform for clinicians and researchers to share their latest research findings.

During the meeting, Dr Carol YL CHEUNG, Associate Professor of DOVS, received the Silver Fellow Award. In addition, 6 students, namely Ms Erica SHING, Ms TONG Yan, Ms WANG Yuyao, Mr Vincent LC YUEN, Mr Ebenezer ZAABAAR, and Ms ZHANG Shuyi were awarded the Travel Grants.

Furthermore, Dr Carol YL CHEUNG, Dr CHU Wai Kit, Dr ZHANG Xiujuan, along with other research staff and students, were also invited to deliver presentations or undertake significant duties. Here are some highlights of the Department′s contributions at ARVO 2024 Annual Meeting:
