We are delighted to announce that our postdoctoral fellow Dr HE Jingna and postgraduate students Ms Sylvia AGYEKUM and Ms TANG Ziqi have received Travel Grant Awards from The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) to participate in the ARVO Annual Meeting 2023, 23 – 27 April 2023, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
Jingna, currently on the research team of Dr CHU Wai Kit, presented her poster, ‶Pharmacologic reprogramming human adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) into retinal ganglion cells″. Sylvia, supervised by Dr Jason CS YAM and Dr ZHANG Xiujuan, presented her poster, ‶Cost-effectiveness analysis of atropine for treating myopia progression in children″. Ziqi, supervised by Dr Carol YL CHEUNG, delivered a presentation of her paper, ‶Using 3D Deep Learning for Classification of Multiple Retinal Diseases on Optical Coherence Tomography Images″.
The ARVO Travel Grant Awards 2023 are presented to full time research students or workers in the ophthalmology and vision research community ‶whose research findings in the abstract are considered to be of high interest to the vision and ophthalmology research community″. It is a great encouragement to the recipients and their team.
The ARVO Annual Meeting provides a wonderful opportunity for ophthalmologists and vision scientists at all career stages, students, and those in affiliated fields to share the latest research findings and collaborate on innovative solutions.
