Three Professors from the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) are voted Top 100 in the Inaugural Asia-Pacific Eye 100 – Most Influential Ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific Region 2022. Prof Clement CY THAM, Chairman of the Department, is ranked within the ″Top 10″.
The Inaugural Asia-Pacific Eye 100 – Most Influential Ophthalmologists 2022 was jointly organised by the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and its official publication, Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology (APJO), to commend the achievements and contributions to ophthalmology by the most influential ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific region.

The judging panel was comprised of 22 renowned experts in ophthalmology from 15 countries or regions. The selection was based on achievements in and contributions to ophthalmology, including academics, leadership, innovation, training, education, and prevention of blindness. Among nominees from 17 Asia-Pacific regions, 100 ophthalmologists were selected as the ″Top 10″ and ″Top 100″ most influential ophthalmologists in Asia-Pacific.
