We are pleased to announce the arrival of Dr Julian A CHAN as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

In welcoming Dr Chan to DOVS, Prof Clement CY THAM, the Chairman of the Department, remarked, ″We would like to extend our warmest welcome to our team.  Dr Chan will primarily be responsible for teaching, as well as participating in our clinical services, research programs, and community projects. We look forward to working with Dr Chan and the positive impact that he will bring.″ Prof Calvin CP PANG, S. H. Ho Research Professor of Visual Sciences, also expressed his enthusiasm, ″Welcome to DOVS. We look forward to working with you on advancements of ophthalmology and visual sciences for the benefits of patient care in Hong Kong beyond.″

Dr Chan graduated from CUHK in 2023. Before becoming a Clinical Lecturer in DOVS, he participated in the CUHK Jockey Club Eye Care Programme as a medical student of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery program. Additionally, Dr Chan briefly worked in the A&E Department. He is currently receiving ophthalmology training in Hong Kong Eye Hospital.
