Prof Clement CY THAM bestowed the Fellowship of Singapore Academy of Medicine

Prof Clement CY THAM, Chairman of CUHK Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, was conferred Fellowship of the Singapore Academy of Medicine in his capacity as the President of The College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong, at the Induction Comitia 2022 on 23 July 2022.  The Guest of Honour at the Induction Comitia was the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob. At this same event, Prof Joseph JY SUNG, the Senior Vice President (Health and Life Sciences) and Dean of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and also former President and Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, presented the prestigious 25th Gordon Arthur Ransome Oration.  The Induction Comitia was held during the 4th AMM-AMS-HKAM Tripartite Congress and 55th Singapore-Malaysia Congress of Medicine (SMCM) in Singapore.

The Academy of Medicine was founded in Singapore in 1957 to assure the maintenance of a high standard of professional and ethical practice. The vision of the Academy is to be the leading institution for postgraduate medical education in the region.  From a pioneering group of 34 members in its early days, the Academy is now the largest organisation of specialists, with over 4,200 members in the Colleges and Chapters.
