We are delighted that our postgraduate student Mr ZHOU Linbin has been awarded the Dragon Culture PhD Scholarship for Medical Studies 2022-2023 in recognition of his excellent performance in ophthalmic research.
Linbin expressed his gratitude to Prof Clement CY THAM, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS), and Prof Calvin CP PANG, for their encouragement and support throughout his PhD study at DOVS. He credited their guidance during each graduate seminar for providing him with innovative insights and helping him develop critical thinking skills and research presentation abilities. Linbin also thanked Prof Guy LJ CHEN, as well as his supervisors, Dr CHU Wai Kit and Dr Danny SC NG, his team members, and colleagues in the DOVS family. Their support and guidance are invaluable to him. He is grateful to be part of such a supportive and hardworking team.
Linbin, year-3 postgraduate student, is pursuing his PhD in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is expected to complete his doctoral degree by October 2023, and has set his sights on becoming a clinician scientist.
The Dragon Culture PhD Scholarship for Medical Studies aims at supporting PhD students in medical and healthcare-related sciences. Outstanding PhD students are awarded based on a wide range of selection criteria, including research proposal, academic performance, research experience and publications, participation in extracurricular activities and community services, reasons for application and future goals.
