The GOAP (Global Ophthalmology Awards Program) committee met in HK from 13^th July to 15^th July. We were honoured to have the world-renowned committee members visiting our department on 14^th July. Other guests include: Ms Jennifer PLUIM, Mr George LAMBROU, Ms Angela BRETAGNE, Ms Jan HUI and Mr Ashish PATEL from Bayer; Ms Emma BURGESS, Mr Rob PILBROW, Mr Jamie HARRISON from Porterhouse Medical.  Our department chairman, Prof Clement CY THAM (Middle row, 6^th), welcome them with consultant ophthalmologists from Hong Kong Eye Hospital, and our other faculty members and staff.

We showed them the facilities at the CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre and the CUHK Eye Centre. Dr Mårten E BRELÉN, Director of Pao So Kok Macular Disease Treatment & Research Centre and Assistant Professor, gave a presentation on our department′s latest retina research. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to exchange new ideas with the guests and establish stronger network with these vitreo-retina experts.
