The Eye Learn I.CARE: Joint-U Eye Care Ambassador Training Team, of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS), CUHK, was honoured with the Faculty Education Award 2025, CUHK. The award was presented and celebrated at the Teachers′ and Students′ Awards Presentation Ceremony hosted by Prof Philip WY CHIU, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK, on 21 Jun 2025. Honoured guests included Prof Philip KT LI, President of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, and Dr Libby HY LEE, JP, Under Secretary for Health, Health Bureau, HKSAR.

The‶EYE Learn, I.CARE” programme is the sister initiative to ″EYE Screen, I.CARE″, which was established in 2022. Dr Kelvin KL CHONG, Associate Professor of DOVS and Director of the Programme, was invited to speak at the Ceremony as one of the Outstanding Teachers. He shared how the programme brought together clinical research, service learning, volunteering, and technology and also paid tribute to the late Mr Ken CF POON, a former coordinator who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Prof Clement CY THAM, Chairman of DOVS, expressed appreciation for the team’s dedication to eye care education, ″This Programme sets a strong example by combining education with community service. It supports patients and families, and inspires future healthcare professionals to care with heart and purpose.″
