We are pleased to announce that Dr NGUYEN Xuan Truong, a recent PhD graduate, has been awarded the Postgraduate Research Output Award 2024 by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). This award recognises his outstanding performance in ophthalmic research, which represents a significant advancement in screening technology and improvement in diagnostic accuracy.

Established in 2002, the Postgraduate Research Output Award aims to encourage quality research among postgraduate students.

Dr Nguyen began his PhD studies in 2021 under the supervision of Dr Carol YL CHEUNG, Associate Professor of the Department. Since joining, he has been actively involved in various research projects, paving the way for innovations in ophthalmic imaging and diagnostics. He expressed his gratitude specially to Dr Cheung and the entire team for the support and guidance throughout his research. Following the completion of his PhD, Dr Nguyen has continued his academic journey with the research team led by Dr Cheung.
