1) To allow trainees to safely and confidently perform ECCE and conjunctival autograft for pterygium surgery in a simulated environment ;
2) To improve fine motor skills under an operating microscope ;
3) To gain proficiency in all steps of ECCE and conjunctival autograft

1) Sign up for a total of 10 hours of practice sessions
(minimum of 10 ECCEs in pig eyes and 5 conjunctival autografts
are recommended) 2) Sign up for 1 assessment session |
45 minutes will be given to complete 1 ECCE procedure in pig eye and video-recorded *
*1 : Standards according to Standards according to ICO-Ophthalmology Surgical Competency Assessment Rubric
*2 : Re-assessment is allowed
Upon satisfactory participation and assessment (see above), a course certificate will be awarded. We will print out your logged practice time for your training record.
