We are thrilled to share with our friends of DOVS that Prof Calvin PANG, the Director of the CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre, is recently selected as one of the 2020 ARVO Foundation Honorees by the ARVO Foundation’s Board of Governors!

ARVO is the largest and most respected eye and vision research organization in the world, its members include nearly 12,000 researchers from over 75 countries.  Also, ARVO Foundation Honorees are recognized for their commitment to ARVO and the ARVO Foundation, including financial support, exemplary leadership of an ARVO Foundation initiative or dedication to endeavors that represent the mission of the ARVO Foundation. Prof Pang was nominated and selected by the ARVO Foundation Board of Governors in recognition of his dedicated service to ARVO and support of the global vision research community.

He has been instrumental in helping the ARVO leadership connect with eye and vision scientists and partners worldwide to bring ARVO’s mission to a more global audience. This includes Prof Pang’s admirable leadership of the development of the Global Mentorship Program to support and sustain the interest of junior researchers in the eye and vision research field.
