Biography
Dr Priscilla Fernandez Loaiza is a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist with clinical experience in both Hong Kong and Costa Rica. She completed her fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases at CUHK and holds a Master of Public Health (Policy & Management) from the University of Hong Kong. In Costa Rica, she previously served as Head of the Ophthalmology Department at San Vicente de Paul Hospital and as a retina specialist at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).
Dr Fernandez has extensive clinical and academic experience in the areas of diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disorders, and public health ophthalmology. Her academic contributions include international conference presentations and supervision of postgraduate research projects. She is actively engaged in population-based screening initiatives and community outreach, particularly in the field of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.

1. Clinical trials relating to retina and uveitis.
2. Identifying novel treatment targets for retinal diseases.
3. Development of novel surgical techniques in vitreoretinal surgery.
4. Investigating imaging biomarkers in CSCR.
