Prof Shomi BHATTACHARYA, a world pioneer in ophthalmic genetics, visited the CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre during 3-4 January 2017 for lectures and research meetings. Prof Bhattacharya is the Sembal Professor of Experimental Ophthalmology, Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, London, the United Kingdom and the Director of the Andalusian Centre of Molecular Biology & Regenerative Medicine (CABIMER), Seville, Spain. He gave two lectures on ″The Genetics of Retinitis pigmentosa″ and ″Ocular disease modeling using induced Pluripotent Stem Cells″.
