The Chinese University of Hong Kong Eye Centre (CUHKEC) Lunch Gathering in April 2017

We hosted a CUHKEC Lunch Gathering on 22 April, 2017 and were glad to have Mrs Nancy Lee, Ms Keynes Wong, Dr Patrick Tong, Mr George Chu, Mr Stephen Lau, and Ms Nancy Kit as our honored guests. The occasion was also brightened by the presence of, Dr Desmond Nguyen (Deputizing Hospital Chief Executive of Kowloon Hospital and Hong Kong Eye Hospital) and Dr Lam Nai Man (Deputy Hospital Chief Executive of Hong Kong Eye Hospital). Mrs Nancy Lee, donor of our Lee Wing Kit Advanced Ophthalmic Training and Educational Centre, has been giving us important support and advice. Ms Keynes Wong is Service Director of Children’s Cancer Foundation, with whom we are collaborating on a childhood eye care programme. We are thankful for the opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to their generous and continuous support over the years and to share with them some of our recent developments.

They visited our core facilities in the Lee Wing Kit Advanced Ophthalmic Training and Education Centre, Lim Por-yen Eye Genetics Research Centre, Pao So Kok Macular Disease Treatment and Research Centre, CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre and CUHK Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Centre. Our assistant professors, Dr Mårten Brelén and Dr Carol Cheung shared their research work with our guests and gave talks, entitled “Recent Advances in Retinal Research at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, CUHK” and “Future Directions in Glaucoma Research” respectively.
