The Medical Retina and Uveitis Service at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital provides high quality subspecialty care in the diagnosis and treatment of Medical Retina diseases and Uveitis for patients in Hong Kong. Our clinic serves more than 100 patients every week. Besides providing high quality patient care, the Medical Retina and Uveitis service has a strong track record in research. During the fellowship, fellows will actively participate in all clinical services and various research projects.

  • 3 outpatient clinics per week including Medical Retina Clinic, Uveitis Clinic, and Diabetic Macular Edema clinic
  • 1 session of electrophysiology per week
  • 1 session of intravitreal injections and photodynamic therapy per week
  • 2 sessions of laser clinic per month
  • Genetic studies in age-related macular degeneration, hereditary retinal diseases and Uveitis
  • Pharmacological treatment for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema and other retinal diseases including anti-VEGF and photodynamic therapy
  • Clinical application of visual electrophysiology including multifocal ERG, full-field ERG, pattern ERG, and VEP
  • Evaluation of macular diseases with fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography and optical coherence tomography
