Delegation from the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia

We were honoured to have Dr Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia, leading an entourage of Cambodian University and Healthcare Officials, to visit our Department and Hong Kong Eye Hospital on 20th November 2017. The delegation included Dr Mam Bunheng, Prof Saphonn Vonthanak, Dr Sung Vinntak, Prof Ngy Meng, Dr Kimsour Phirun, Mr Tom Kimson and Mr Luong Chan Huy. We were also delighted to have Dr Chow Pak-chin, the Medical Director of the Asian Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness (AFPB), to brighten the visit.

Prof Clement Tham, our Chairman, and Dr Ben Lam, Deputy Hospital Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Eye Hospital, welcomed the delegation from Cambodia and guided the tours of CUHK Eye Centre, CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre and Hong Kong Eye Hospital during the visit.

This visit granted us a valuable opportunity to introduce our work in training, clinical service and research in the field of ophthalmology in Hong Kong. We do much look forward to the collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia in near future.
