Following CCF Chairman Mr. Tony Ho’s welcome speech, Professor Clement CY Tham delivered an opening remark on behalf of our Department. Dr. Jason Yam, the Campaign Convener, followed with his sharing about the Campaign concepts and highlights.
Prof. Tham and Mr. Ho officiated the launching ceremony together with the Board of CCF Govenors (Ms. Annita Mau and Mr. Benson Cheung), the Campaign Advisors (Dr. HL Yuen, Dr. Christopher Yu and Dr. Flora Lau), the Campaign Convener (Dr. Jason YAM) and Co-Conveners (Dr. Winnie Lau and Dr. Eric Fu).
The subsequent education talk session was featured by Dr. Carol Lam and Dr. Eric Fu’s insightful presentations on “General Overview of Retinoblastoma” and “Side Effects of Chemotherapy to Children with Retinoblastoma” respectively. Assistant Professor Wai-kit Chu was also invited to share his expertise on retinoblastoma cell development during the Q&A session.
The launching ceremony has marked a great start for the Retinoblastoma Awareness and Education Campaign. We are earnestly looking forward to the coming events in arousing public awareness of RB.
