(1) Measurement of retinal ganglion cell function using electrophysiology (STR/PhNR)
Electroretinogram (ERG) is an important tool for evaluation of retinal function in the laboratory and in the clinic. The scotopic threshold response (STR) and the photopic negative response (PhNR) are largely reflective of retinal ganglion cell activity and their measurements are useful to monitor functional impairment in models of optic nerve injury. We have developed a new experimental glaucoma model with intra-cameral injection of a cross-linking hydrogel. This study will characterize the longitudinal profiles of STR and PhNR in mice developing glaucoma.
