Our Department and the Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) will co-organize the Inaugural APSPOS Congress in conjunction with the Inaugural Hong Kong Paediatric Ophthalmology Congress (APSPOS-HKPOC 2017) on 11-12 October, 2017 at Hong Kong Eye Hospital in Hong Kong. Our faculty member Dr. Jason Yam, who also serves as the Secretary-General of APSPOS, was appointed as the Congress President.
This inaugural congress is one of the most important programmes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus in 2017. Our co-sponsors include American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus; Chinese Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus; European Strabismological Association; Hong Kong Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Group; International Strabismological Association; International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council; and World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. More than 60 world-renowned speakers will come to share their expertise in the field.
The symposia will cover various areas including common ocular problems in children, surgical approaches to pediatric cataract with IOL implantation, medical and surgical management of pediatric glaucoma and anterior segment disorders, retinal diseases, myopia, allergic eye diseases, thyroid eye diseases and challenging strabismus. In addition to the academic exchange, this is also a unique opportunity for delegates to establish lifelong friendships and look for collaborations.
